The plan at a glance

Two days is enough to raft, try a few water and adventure activities, spend a night by a campfire and see a couple of sights. This plan follows the rhythm of our Stay Package (2 days / 1 night, with 12:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out), so you can adapt it easily to your own dates.

The idea is simple: pack the energetic activities into Day 1 afternoon, let the evening slow down around the campfire, and use Day 2 morning for a gentler forest and sightseeing round before you head home.

Before you arrive

Confirm your dates, package and group size in advance, and let us know your arrival time so we can plan check-in and your first activity. Check river status for your date on the day before you travel, since rafting depends on dam releases (see best time to visit). If you are coming from far away, read how to reach Dandeli and try to arrive by midday.

Day 1: Arrive, check in and hit the river

Day 1 is the adventure day. Settle in first — you will want to be relaxed and dry-clothes-ready before you get on the water:

  • 12:00 PM — Check in, freshen up, meet the team and have lunch.
  • Afternoon — River time: Short Rafting (1 km), kayaking and river boating.
  • Late afternoon — Water zorbing and the zipline, then a dip in the pool or a rain dance if the group has energy left.
  • Evening — Tea and snacks, then dinner and a night campfire under the trees.

Day 2: Forest morning and sightseeing

Start early — the forest is at its best before the day warms up, and birds are at their most active:

  • Early morning — Forest trekking or bird watching with a guide, followed by breakfast.
  • Mid-morning — Sightseeing at Honey Park and the Supa Dam backwaters, both included in our stay packages.
  • By 11:00 AM — Check out and load up.
  • On the way out — Optional stops such as Syntheri Rocks or Kavala Caves; see our guide to places to visit near Dandeli.

Option: doing it as a day trip

Short on time or based nearby? The Day Thrill Package packs the river activities and meals into a single day — Short Rafting, kayaking, boating, swimming, zorbing and a zipline, with breakfast and buffet lunch. You skip the overnight stay and the campfire, but you still get the core Dandeli experience. It is a popular choice for families, office groups and anyone travelling from Hubballi, Belagavi or Goa.

Trip cost: what to budget

Your main costs are the package (or individual activities), travel to Dandeli, and any extras. Here is what our packages start at at the time of writing:

  • Day Thrill Package: from ₹1,599 for a one-day programme with breakfast, buffet lunch and six river activities.
  • Stay Package: from ₹2,699 for 2 days / 1 night with rooms or commando tents, all meals, river activities, a night campfire and sightseeing.
  • Premium River Side Stay Package: from ₹4,599 for the same 2 days / 1 night programme with riverside rooms.
  • Upgrades and extras: the Mid (₹1,350) and Long (₹1,750) rafting routes, jungle safari (₹800) and the roller-coaster zipline (₹1,400) are priced separately.

Other costs to plan for

Beyond the package, budget for getting there and back — fuel and tolls if you drive, or fares if you take a bus or train plus a taxi transfer — along with snacks or drinks outside the included meals, souvenirs, and tips for guides and staff if you would like to. If you are travelling from Bengaluru or Pune, transport is likely to be your largest single cost after the package itself.

Ways to save

  • Travel on weekdays or off-peak months — see our best time to visit guide.
  • Choose an all-inclusive package rather than paying for each activity, meal and stay separately.
  • Travel in a group — sharing a taxi or self-drive splits the biggest cost.
  • Book early so you get the dates and package you want.

Packing checklist

Pack light but smart. You will get wet on the river, sleep outdoors or in a forest-side room, and spend plenty of time on your feet:

  • Quick-dry clothes and a spare set, plus a towel.
  • Sandals with a back strap or old sports shoes for the river.
  • Sunscreen, cap and sunglasses.
  • A light jacket in winter and insect repellent year-round.
  • Waterproof phone pouch, power bank and a valid ID.
